Geodesic domes are structures that look like half spheres made up of many triangle supports. People have been using geodesic tents for ages in human history. They lived in the domes from the Stone Age to modern times at times.

The reasons behind it mainly were based on life-sustaining grounds. Because of igloos‘ unique shape and construction, Eskimos could stay alive even in the coldest part of the Arctic. Because the domes allow air and energy to circulate without obstruction while decreasing the wind turbulence.

When it comes to the 20th century, people needed affordable and efficient housing that could be built quickly in conditions of warfare. It was also realized that the geodesic domes are extremely lightweight compared to the other structures that are the same in size.

After the 1950s, geodesic domes were started to use for aesthetic purposes. For instance, Gold Dome in Oklahoma City was first used as a bank with its geodesic shape. Another example is the Stepan Center at the University of Notre Dame. Geodesic tent used even in Walt Disney. However, none of them was invented for daily use.

Later, applying modern technological know-how to shelter construction brought shelter dome into everyday citizen’s life. Today, Shelter Domes are employed in hotels, eco- camps or restaurants. But still, there was a need for a shelter dome in ‘our garden’. This is why we improved the Shelter Dome made with the best quality, recycling materials. We completely changed the intended purpose of the shelter dome and improved it with new and comfortable materials.
