RECYCLE YOUR SHELTER DOME
(Only if you can wear it out)
Recycling is the process of collecting and converting waste materials and turning them into new products. At its simplest, the process is based on sending recyclables to a recovery facility. Then, they are classified, cleaned and processed into usable materials in manufacturing.
The recycling system depends on the consumer and producer as well as the recycling technology. While the manufacturer determines product design and used materials, the consumer plays a key role to deliver them to waste recycling centres. On the other hand, our effort is vain if there is no policy or waste effective centres.
Luckily, today many countries encourage recycling. At least, we know the products have been recycled or recyclable. Also, after the irremediability of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the numbers of recycling centres and companies have increased. Global companies, having a particular brand image, started to pay attention to their production techniques and materials. Although a lot of companies that do not want to pay the price -therefore do not change their system still- we are not the one!
Shelter Dome does its part on recycling! We are manufacturer whose production system is full-compatible with environmentally- friendly production. Moreover, all materials are used among %100 recyclable ones. Yes, they have not been recycled as certain products have to keep their quality. Because every time plastic is recycled, the polymer chain grows shorter. However, recycled plastics are very suitable for many other products.
We designed all parts of Shelter Dome with recyclable materials, from the main ones to the tiny ones. Choosing recyclable materials requires high effort and intense research. First, all materials had to be compatible with each other. Second, our advanced design had to be applicable on these materials.
Although the name of the material is the same -plastic is plastic, right?- many types of plastic can not be recycled. For instance, polycarbonate Shelter Domes are needed very advanced technology to be recycled. Most probably, if you buy this widespread type of Shelter Dome, most probably it will never be recycled. Because it consumes more energy and requires a sizable investment in its recycling process than its production process.
As a matter of principle, Shelter Dome defends sustainability and takes responsibility. If we want to reach some level of sustainability, recycling has to play a major role to accomplish this objective. Thus we use, at least, recyclable materials in practice as a designer and a manufacturer. We do not use harmfull materials or processes to human health and nature. We are aware that we, as manufacturers, play a much more prominent role than we might imagine.
Alongside using recyclable materials, we also actively produce spare parts and accessories. In this way, we aim to fix the product when needed, instead of selling a new one. Let’s imagine buying a Shelter Dome and then losing one of the essential parts, like connectors or struts. It is not that easy to find compatible parts after years. Many people today throw their products as a result of not finding the broken pieces. Alternatively, they try to adapt a part for Shelter Dome, resulting in a lower-quality user experience. You do not have to think about it anymore. Whether on the sale or not, we continue to manufacture all Shelter Dome parts.
Furthermore, we do manufacture accessories for shelter domes. You do not have to buy two different shelter domes to use in different periods of the year. For instance, when you buy a Shelter Dome Clear View you can easily add another replacement cover, instead of purchasing a new product to use your tent on hot summer days.
We love our nature, we contribute to protecting it. This is one of the reasons why we call Shelter Dome a ‘new lifestyle’.
We did our part! Please do not forget to do yours.
